About us:

Smør Scandinavian Bakery is an artisan bakery in Sidney BC, opening Summer 2024. We specialize in baked goods from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland (ex: dense sourdough rye bread, sweet cardamom knots, crispbreads, and heart-shaped waffles). Our mission is to share Scandinavian culture with everyone in our community by offering high-quality baked goods and warm Scandinavian hospitality.

Positions Available:

• Baker (Morning) – Responsible for the morning bake-off, shaping & baking breads, and other baking tasks as required.
  • Schedule: Full-time, Thursday – Monday mornings, 5:00am – 1:00pm
• Baker (Afternoon) – Responsible for mixing doughs and preparing recipe components, which will be assembled and/or baked in the morning.
  • Schedule: Full-time, Wednesday – Sunday afternoons. Start time is negotiable, but shift must be afternoon/evening (ex: 1pm – 9pm)
• Cook & Baker – Responsible for preparing menu items like soups, sandwiches, and waffles, and assisting the bakers as needed.
  • Schedule: Full-time, Thursday – Monday mornings, 7:00am – 3:00pm

Please note that ALL of the above positions require formal training or experience working in the industry. We maintain a high standard of cleanliness, and all staff are expected to participate in scheduled cleaning tasks. 

Pay & benefits: $20-22/hr based on training and experience. Free meal on shift, and 25% off additional purchases. Free coffee/tea anytime!

Start date: End of June or early July (exact date TBD)
