Baking industry unites at BAC ‘Night at the Races’ fundraiser in Toronto

Toronto – BAC Ontario Chapter’s popular networking and fundraising event, Night at the Races, returned in fine form.

About 125 bakery owners and manufacturing/supplying partners came out to Woodbine Racetrack and Casino to enjoy a delicious dinner, vie for great raffle prizes, visit with industry friends and meet new people working in the baking industry – all while raising money for baking and pastry student scholarships.

New this year were small-group tours of the Parade, track and winner’s circle, where members got a close-up view of the horse races and stars like Emma-Jayne Wilson.

BAC National executive director Martin Barnett, on a whirlwind tour across Canada with stops in Toronto and Moncton for town halls and a fundraising golf tournament, welcomed members to the relaxed event. Barnett encouraged them to network and spread the word about the value in being involved with the BAC at the national or regional levels.
