Loblaw’s launches small supplier program

Brampton, Ont. – Loblaw Companies Ltd. will introduce a Small Supplier Program it said will provide additional support and resources to existing Canadian growers, bakers, vintners and local product creators, and make it easier to work with the company.

The new program, launching January 2024, will provide faster payments, streamlined processes and a six-month guaranteed listing period, Loblaw’s said in a news release.

Loblaw’s will reduce payment terms to up to a maximum of seven days for new and existing small suppliers. This is designed to enhance cash flow for suppliers and support farmers.

The program includes dedicated team members at head office and regionally, as well as training and resources.

The company said it plans to assist small suppliers by making adjustments to supply chain programs and subsidizing retail industry fees.

The program provides a six-month on-shelf commitment, while waiving associated listing fees.
