The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a statement reminding businesses
that at this time we are not prioritizing compliance activities related to new licensing, preventive controls and traceability requirements under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) that apply to the manufactured food sector as of July 15, 2020.
To help find relevant information and resources more quickly and easily, the CFIA has launched a new virtual assistant and enhanced the Toolkit for food businesses.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has extended the temporary enforcement flexibility for non-food safety labelling requirements for foodservice packaged products. A notice to industry regarding this temporary enforcement flexibility was initially posted on April 6, 2020 with a 90 day duration. Following feedback from industry, the CFIA has extended the period of flexibility for another 60 days, to September 5, 2020. Please see the notice for more information.
